Feeling the stress of meeting the (incredibly high) expectations of Hens Night?
We know that coming up with an exciting party for a high energy, fun loving Bride To Be is tricky business (let alone attempting to steer away from tacky and cliche party activities - we’re looking at you, male entertainers), which is why we’ve done the hard work for you and compiled a list of the top 15 Activities for the Active Hen, not a tacky pink sash in sight. You’re welcome.
1. Holey Moley
Is your loved up Hen a fan of mini golf? Get her and her closest friends down to Holey Moley, a very adult mini golf bar not only offering a ‘gram friendly, aesthetic and themed mini golf course (think huge neon signs, disco balls and fairy lights galore) but also pitchers of delicious cocktails and bar food that will satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. Better still, Holey Moley offers Hen Night packages so the Bride To Be and her ladies can get the party started in an exclusive reserved function space!
Not a Holey Moley near you? Not to worry- many other mini golf courses also offer reserved spaces for larger groups, and you can always get the cocktails flowing afterward!
2. Amazing Hens Race
In what might just be one of the most adventurous Hens parties humanly imaginable, the Amazing Hens Race is every bit as exciting as it sounds, taking the Bride To Be and her friends on a giant race around the city. The race, in which you’ll need to solve a number of cheeky and silly challenges to get to your next checkpoint (don’t worry, you’ll be fully equipped with a map to help you out!) is fully hosted, meaning a friendly and expert helping hand will be there to ensure the day runs smoothly (and with a bar challenge involving cocktails on the cards, how could it not?).

3. Hens Race & Cocktail Making Medley
Be it Pina Colada or Aperol Spritz, pretty much everyone can appreciate a good cocktail. Not only delicious, the delicate drinks look visually incredible and make everything (at least) 90% more fancy and sophisticated. Those who have the ability to master these creations thus understandably wield a great deal of power, making this an excellent (and delicious) activity for a Hens party.
The Hens Race and Cocktail Making Medley has all the fun of AmazingCo’s traditional Hens Race (see above!), as well as including a cocktail making class led by an expert mixologist at a mystery ending location - pretty great right?
And who knows, maybe your new found cocktail making skills will come in handy on the Hen’s (other) big night and you’ll get to show off your new found talent at the wedding!

4. Masterchef competition
Do you know an adventurous, competitive Hen who loves all things food? Let her embrace her inner chef in a delicious, unique and competitive way by throwing her a Masterchef Hens party!
While also tremendous fun, the activity is super simple to execute - all you need to do is allocate guests into smaller groups (sizes depend on the total number of your group) and assign each team with one of the Bride To Be’s favourite dishes (get creative here - whether it’s a cuisine specific feast or a multi region extravaganza is completely up to the Hen).
Before the competition begins, lay out all ingredients that teams will need on a table, crack open a few bottles of wine for good measure, set a timer and get cooking! Leave it up to the Hen to see if she would like to participate, or if she’d rather sip on some sparkling and remain an unbiased judge instead.
5. Adults Only Arcade
There’s something about an arcade, be it the old school games and neon lights, or the playful and electrifying ambiance, that allows people from all walks of life to enjoy themselves.
An adults only arcade bar however, transforms what is by day enjoyed by children of all ages, into a grown ups only wonderland at night. For your next Hens do, get the lucky Bride To Be to an after hours arcade bar (we recommend B. Lucky & Sons for those of you in Australia) where you, the Hen and her ladies will not only be able to let your active and competitive sides shine with old school arcade games, but will also be able to celebrate the Bride To Be in style by getting your hands on some delicious cocktails and bar food.
While perfect as a stand alone activity, a couple of games and cocktails at an arcade go down a treat as a pre-celebration for the Hen who is feeling extra active and is keen for a night out on the town.
6. Escape Room
Escape rooms provide the perfect party activity for the Bride To Be who is partial to a little mystery and adventure. The fast paced and action packed experience sees the lucky Hen and her friends race against the clock to, and this one’s a shocker - escape a room - by solving a number of themed puzzles. Not for the faint hearted, the rooms consist of interactive activities for the Hen and her friends to get involved in, as well as props and music that successfully set the scene and rev up the ambiance.
After you’ve cracked the mystery and have managed to escape, feel free to carry on the festivities with a well deserved drink - we suggest going to the Hen’s favourite bar, or heading home with the gang and continuing the party there. Escape rooms are available in most cities (our favourite is Escape Hunt), and many offer unique Hens party packages to make the special Bride To Be feel extra special.
7. Ten Pin Bowling
There’s nothing quite like bowling a strike, unless of course, you’re about to get married and you have an army of friends cheering you on because this is in fact your amazing bowling Hens party.
Perfect for the active Bride To Be with a competitive streak, this Hens experience is more suave than it sounds - the soggy party food and luke warm soft drinks that have become somewhat synonymous with primary school bowling parties (you know the ones - ice cream cakes were a common, if not integral, component) are long gone; a bowling Hens party will have you holding a bowling ball in one hand, cocktail in the other, long after the kiddies are in bed. Better yet, many bowling alleys (Strike Bowling is our favourite, for all you Aussies) offer private function areas for the lucky Hen and her pals to socialise, get the drinks flowing (think ‘gram worthy cocktails) and chow down on delicious bar food.
8. Hen’s Mystery Picnic
So you’re organising a Hens party for a Bride To Be who has a sense of action, yet doesn’t quite get around partying it up until the early hours of the morning at a club or bar? Enter AmazingCo’s Mystery Picnic, a scavenger hunt-esque experience in which the Hen and her friends must successfully work together as a group to solve a number of clues and riddles in order to pick up their delicious picnic items (from local artisan stores, no less). Best of all, the final beautiful location of the picnic is a secret, and the entire experience is pre planned, so you don’t need to worry about a single thing except making sure the Bride To Be is having the time of her life.

9. Murder Mystery Evening
Is your Hen partial to a bit of mystery and intrigue? An avid Cluedo fan, perhaps? Get her mind ticking in spectacular and mysterious fashion with a themed Murder Mystery party, where all of her guests become suspects and she’ll need to put her best detective foot forward. While possible as a hosted event, if you feel confident with your own hosting abilities, themed Murder Mystery sets and accompanying instructions can be downloaded online. Just make sure to let your guests know which character they’ll need to dress up as (this depends on your chosen theme - 1920’s dinner party is a favourite), and ensure you have plenty of finger food and wine to get the party started!
10. Hen’s Mega Beach Party
Got a beach babe Bride To Be with an active spirit to plan a Hens do for? There’s nothing quite like a bit of fun in the sun, and AmazingCo’s Hen’s Mega Beach Party provides the goods for a unique and adventurous Hens activity.
Think a jam packed day of beach games and challenges to fuel some healthy competition (with prizes for the winners, naturally) as well as sea breeze, sunshine and vitamin D to help calm any pre wedding jitters. Available as either a DIY beach games kit or fully hosted event (in which an expert Hens party host will run all the beachy activities for you), both options pave the way for a fun day out which can be perfectly followed by a rejuvenating swim or night out on the town- whatever your active Hen prefers!

11. Hens Wine Tour
Wine tasting has, over the years, become an increasingly popular Hens Party activity, and with a day of sunshine, friends, copious amounts of the region’s best wine and a happy Hen on offer, it isn’t difficult to see why. On the other hand, if the thought of calling different wineries, organising modes of transport and attempting to keep to schedule on the day is enough to send you into a stress induced meltdown, allowing someone else to take care of the planning for you may help the day run smoother - and will be a lot more enjoyable for you and the Hen.
Thankfully, AmazingCo offers a fully organised Hens Wine Tour experience, in which you, the Bride To Be and a group of her closest friends are driven around through the scenic rolling countryside by your own private driver, stopping to taste delicious wine varieties from the best wineries your chosen region has to offer (translation: you don’t have to do a thing).

12. Active Dance Class
Got yourself a dancing queen (young and sweet) to organise a Hens party for?
Get her down to a special dancing class (Burlesque and Zumba are great fun!) where she and her favourite ladies can learn to shake the pre wedding jitters away and strut their stuff. And with many dance studios offering special Hens night classes, you know the experience will be intimate, super personal and unique - the perfect way to make your Hen feel as special as possible. Don’t worry about your two left feet either, once off classes are designed to be high energy and fun (rather than intimidating) and with the adrenaline rush and blood pumping, you, the Hen and her friends are sure to be in the mood for a night of even more fun and dancing out on the town.
13. Weekend Away
If you feel like one night just isn’t enough time to celebrate the Bride To Be, consider treating her to a fully fledged weekend away. Be it an inner city hotel escape or a serene getaway to a picturesque countryside region, a couple nights away (rather than the standard night out) ensures that the Hen and her closest friends are able to spend more time together, prolonging the pre wedding antics (and why wouldn’t you want that?). How you spend the weekend away depends on the Bride To Be’s personal taste of course, but if considering a country getaway, AmazingCo’s Hens Wine Tour makes for an enjoyable and delicious activity (just make sure some of her weekend away remains a mystery - this makes it much more special).

14. Bar Crawl
If you don’t know your Hen’s favourite bars, get ready to find out fast, because you’re about to pay a visit to all of them. Bar crawls never fail to provide a night of hilarious shenanigans, and a night of shenanigans is a strict requirement for a successful Hens night. Perfect for the Bride To Be who enjoys a night out on the town, make sure to keep the exact order and name of watering holes a secret so she enjoys an element of mystery. For extra action, consider making a treasure map for the Hen that she’ll need to follow to discover where her next delicious location is!
In order to make the activity even more celebratory, we recommend sticking to a theme for the evening; try taking your lucky Hen to the best rooftop cocktail bars your city has to offer, or perhaps cosy breweries are more to her taste?
15. Hens Karaoke Party Kit
Songbird of her generation or not, it’s your lucky Hen’s last night of freedom - so go easy on her and let her sing her heart and soul out to her favourite tunes with a DIY karaoke party. Karaoke never fails to bring some life and soul into a party, and by choosing to go with a kit instead of going to a noisy karaoke venue, when and how you choose to run the party is completely up to you and the Bride To Be.
We recommend setting up the kit at home before the Hen and her friends arrive, heading out for drinks and then returning home after to sing the night away (and if the question is asked, she and Beyonce may as well be sisters).
